We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our Safety Department. This position will be based in the St. Louis area. Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of OSHA & DOT standards. The Safety Coordinator’s primary role will be to assist in various safety-related tasks to promote and strengthen the safety culture through implementing and supporting safety programs, policies, and procedures. Position may be project-based as needed.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Safety Compliance - monitor safety efforts, including job site audits and inspections, reporting, and investigating injuries, accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Acts as a resource to management & employees regarding safety regulations & professional development. Ability to manage multiple projects & problem-solve issues while paying strict attention to detail. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to ensure work is completed safely.
- Communicates all findings, concerns, and deficiencies to advise management for timely problem resolution. Assist in the development and implementation of tactical solutions that will support the company's efforts to improve and maintain compliance.
- Promotes safety awareness among field employees by providing accurate and informative data. Builds trust and respect with field personnel to promote open communication and influence the adoption of safety practices.
- Visible support & enforcement of the safety program. Conduct safety meetings, assist in SSSP’s JSAs, giving timely feedback on safety questions and/or concerns.
- Facilitate workplace safety and emergency issues. Administer first aid, arrange and/or transport for emergency medical treatment of injured employees to the hospital or clinic.
- Assist & support the overall Safety Program. Employee safety-related training as needed.
- Flexibility to perform other tasks and/or duties as assigned.
- Safety-related field or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s degree in safety strongly preferred.
- Safety Certification (CHST, GSP, ASP, CSP, etc.) is required. Applicants must be willing to obtain a certification as a condition of employment.
- OSHA (30-Hour) Certification.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety and environmental regulations.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and multitask. Strong planning, organizational, and follow-up skills. Capable of working as part of a team as needed.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills. Ability to understand, follow directions, and interact. (Effective listening). Ability to identify & correct safety deficiencies in a wide variety of work processes.
- Excellent communication skills - both oral and written. Excellent people and process management skills. Ability to effectively present information.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to travel frequently by vehicle to inspect job sites within the territory assigned. Ability to travel occasionally to out-of-town jobsites, as necessary.
- Predictable, regular attendance is required.
