Overview

Semesters Available: Fall 2025, Spring 2026, Summer 2026, Fall 2026

Goals: Students will gain practical, hands-on experience in plumbing, controls, refrigeration, and HVAC; Students will understand the principles of engineering and system design. Both of these programs provide direct project exposure, skill development, and a strong foundation for a future in engineering, construction, or mechanical systems.

Mentorship: Students will be paired with a supervisor/mentor based on individual skillsets and learning goals, and they will take part in structured internal training classes. In addition, participants will have multiple opportunities to collaborate with other experienced professionals on real-world projects.

General Information: Our program can be completed over one or more alternating semesters, with contract length being flexible and tailored to meet each student’s personal goals and time availability. Positions are full-time (40 hours/week) with opportunities for earning overtime wages.

Start/End Dates: Program dates are flexible and follow a four-month semester outline (Spring, Summer, Fall).

General Requirements: Students at all academic levels are encouraged to send in an application, with preference given to rising juniors and seniors. Our ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Final Note: High-performing students may be offered a full-time role after graduation.

Responsibilities

Students will gain on-site office experience and perform multiple duties: assisting in load calculations and mechanical system design; engaging in project estimation, proposal development, and drawing reviews; learning and applying relevant software tools and energy modeling systems; supporting project documentation, submittals, and workflow management.

Skill Requirements

There are no prior skills required, but it is recommended that candidates: have a basic understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics; be proficient in using Microsoft Excel.

This program is tailored for candidates pursuing degrees in the following fields: Mechanical Engineering or Pre-Mechanical Engineering; Construction Management or Pre-Construction Management. Please note that students from all backgrounds with a strong interest in the field of construction are welcome to send in an application.
