As an application engineer, you must be detail-oriented and communicative. In this position, you will be planning, organizing, managing, and monitoring building automation controls projects. You will be responsible for producing detailed diagrams for automation systems and assisting project managers overseeing various projects, making any necessary adjustments to ensure successful completion. You will also use your technical expertise to advise internal teams. This position requires you to closely interact with project managers, salespeople, and assigned project staff to assist with the timely completion of each project. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you will collaborate with field personnel, contractors, and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible for building automation system design for new construction and retrofit projects.
- Interpret mechanical design drawings and specifications.
- Submittal development and preparation consisting of control wiring diagrams, airflow diagrams, piping systems diagrams, BAS equipment selection, sequence of operation, valve schedules, and damper schedules.
- Provide engineering support, product research, and technical documentation to project managers, and installation contractors as needed.
- Integration of multiple vendor systems to the building automation system.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while communicating timelines to project managers and contractors.
- Meet with contractors and consulting engineers regarding project design and submittal approval.
- Attend job meetings or site visits, as required, to complete project needs.
Required Experience:
- Previous work experience in HVAC, Building Automation, or Industrial Automation.
- OR Previous experience in electrical design using AutoCAD.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Solid understanding of various types of HVAC systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems.
- Revit experience.
- Computer networking.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
