Accomplishment Spotlight

"“I have been using Jarrell Mechanical for our mechanical needs for over 10 years. We have relied on their expertise to keep our 80 plus year old equipment running. About 5 years ago they replaced 1 of our 500 ton chillers that had to be lowered into our mechanical room from the sidewalk. This past summer they designed a complete new system for the Theatre. After months of planning and several changes due to the complexity of the building they assured me and the owners that they had a plan that would work. They had to completely demo the old equipment and air handlers from the basement and 7th floor mechanical rooms, install all new and had a total of 7 weeks to complete for a sold out concert. Their team completed the install in 4 weeks which gave their control team 3 weeks to get the top of the line system all completely automated. The project went better than I ever expected. Jarrell Mechanical Company's staff is nothing short of complete professionals from the Vice President to the Engineering team to the Project Manager to the Mechanics. I would highly recommend Jarrell Mechanical for any Mechanical needs.” "

Quality Work

Fox Theatre, St. Louis, MO

Project Overview:  "The Fabulous Fox" has been a landmark in St. Louis since 1929.  Recently, Jarrell Contracting was hired to increase the cooling capacity while saving energy, and that's what we did.  After completing an energy audit, it was determined that the HVAC system could be substantially improved by replacing the three main air handling systems and the original chilled water system with high efficiency, variable volume air handling units and an energy management system that will minimize the electrical consumption of the HVAC systems.

Challenges/Solutions:  There are always challenges in upgrading an existing system, but this project was unique in that it was to be completed in 7 short weeks, and the work was confined to a basement mechanical room, which was accessible only through a removal sidewalk section, and the penthouse mechanical room with limited access.  These challenges were overcome by , pre-planning, pre-fabricating most of the components ahead of the 7 week construction window , coordination of all phases, and a temporary work platform.
